I wouldn't buy a purse like that, but not because of the leather. I just would never spend that much on something like that. I don't see much use in spending so much money on items like that, but that's just me. It's not because of the animal rights thing or anything that I wouldn't buy it, I have a purse with leather on it and a letterman jacket.

But if you really want it, buy it. It's up to you, and no one should influence you either way. Everyone has their own view and beliefs and all you can do is follow your own.

I read your overly long comment. I understand that not everyone can afford to go to a university. I get that ok. But Ashley how many people actually transfer from CC to a University after 2 years. Not many. There is financial aid, you just have to look for it. As for losing respect for me. I lost my respect for you a long time ago. It's time to get off your high horse Ash. I don't think I'm better than anyone. I'm not sorry I'm going to a real University. I've earned everything that I've gotten. Good Luck with everything. And leave this high school drama in high school... get over yourself and move on.

I'm sort of the same as Pattie.  But, speaking as a fellow vegetarian (are you vegan?) I must say that it is not a crime to purchase something that is made using animal products.  I totally agree that wearing a furr coat is disgusting.  Just the though of it...ugh. 

And anyway, no one has the right to judge you.  If you decide to be a vegetarian, a member of peta, or buy a purse that you love that just happens to have a leather strap, so be it.  That is YOUR decision and if anyone doesn't like it, they can just SHOVE IT.  I am a vegetarian for some slightly different reasons than you.  But you know what?  I did something WORSE.  I bought a purse (I felt quite guilty about it, too) that I believed was leather because I needed a new purse and I really liked this purse (It's rare that I find a good purse and fall in love with it).  It is beside the point that I later found that it was a vinyl purse.  But you know what, that doesn't matter.  I am going to say something that if twisted may be construed as incredibly dumb....but the purse a girl selects is very important.  Finding a purse that you love and that will give you a sense of pride is very important to a girl and anyone who judges you for a leather freaking strap is out of place and they obviously don't understand the value of a hard-earned dollar and putting that money into something you can be proud of. 

I'm sorry, I didn't know I felt that strongly about all this.  ( I heard about your situation from Kim and then read your xanga, of course).  Anyway, good for you for standing up for yourself and doing something you want regardless of stupid people judging you.

you are amazing who fricking cares its not like the peta police are going to incriminate you for it there is a differance and it does need to be stated you are right in what you believe remember the old saying "stand for what you believe in, even if your standing alone" well your not standing alone but it makes the piont - like heidi said its your choice to make - even if the outcome is bad or good its our choice you made that choice to buy a purse with a strap of leather big woop who cares you like it and are proud to say its yours thats the inportant part and i bet when someone comes up to you with a gun and says hand over your purse your going to tell them "hell no bitch you best be tripping go get your own damm purse" which then this person will think that you are crazy in the head and leave you alone but you will take it one step futrther and start to have convoltions till this person leave you without the purse and then i will say to you you are amazing you stand for what you believe you are you, you are a strong figure and nothing and no one can stand in your way you have the intellect and the power to be yourself and thats what counts and that is what really counts remember that
